When I was asked who is the leader I looked up to, my answer is the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.
There is no perfect leader: he may be a Dictator, he may have used an iron fist in disciplining Filipino people… but despite of all the negative feedback, I have seen many accomplishments from him. There is the Manila International Airport (now called Ninoy Aquino International Airport), Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney Transplant Institute, Lungsod ng Kabataan (now called Philippine Children Medical Center), etc..
I was able to visit the province of Ilocos – the hometown of Marcos. I can’t help but fall in love in this place!
Well, here’s the Malacañang of the North.
